Scripture: Acts 9:32-35
32As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the saints in Lydda. 33There he found a man named Aeneas, a paralytic who had been bedridden for eight years. 34"Aeneas," Peter said to him, "Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and take care of your mat." Immediately Aeneas got up. 35All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

Meditation:
What we see in this short story of Peter's encounter with Aeneas and his healing is the attribution to Jesus Christ.  Peter says, "Jesus Christ heals you".
In other words, whatever Peter did is not by Peter's ability or power but by the power of Christ.  Whatever we do as servants of the Lord is done not by my might but by the power of God and therefore the results glorify God.  So what happened to these people in that town and the surrounding areas?  They turned to the Lord.  The purpose of our ministry is not that they become our personal disciples (followers) but the followers of Christ.  In a way, Christians are always pointing to the Way, not trying to be the way.  In this sense the pressure is off of us.  We just need to point others to Christ that they may have a personal encounter and relationship with Him.

"Lord Jesus, in whatever I do help me not to do it in my own strength but by yours.  Help me not to hide your glory by usurping it for myself.  May I point and direct others to the goodness of you that they may have a personal encounter and relationship with You."
